Resurgo Trust
Resurgo means “to rise up again.” Their vision is for ordinary people to create extraordinary impact by rising up and addressing social challenges in an entrepreneurial and scalable way.
Their initiatives are Spear, an award-winning programme helping disadvantaged young people into work or education; Ventures, which supports emerging social entrepreneurs to make a positive impact on society, Consulting; which provides coaching services to organisations looking to improve outcomes; and Apprenticeships, which helps organisations develop an apprenticeship training programme to meet their needs.
Over the past 15 years, the Spear programme has worked with 5,000 young people. 75% of young people who complete the programme not only get into work, but are still there a year later. In July 2010, following six months of due diligence, Resurgo was adopted onto the Impetus PEF venture philanthropy portfolio to support its impact, replication and growth. In 2013, Resurgo won the Guardian Charity Awards recognised for their outstanding contribution to social welfare, excellence, and innovation amongst small and medium-sized charities. They were listed as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces in the Great Place to Work Awards 2016.
